The term "complex" is defined as something composed of many interconnected parts, a perfect description of Boadicea's original Complex, launched in 2008. It is a wise, impeccable, leathery scent, richly infused with the greenery of sage and mysterious violet. Sage is a powerful note with a long folkloric history of purifying and meditative rituals, used in libations or burnings.
Base notes of oud, musk, and soft animal leather create a deeply sensual scent that intensifies as it develops on the skin. Longevity, as with many Boadicea fragrances, is exceptional.
In Complex, the fragrance's opening, a soapy, enveloping sage green is supported by the woodsy boudoir atmosphere of violet and blends with soft, smoky leather, recalling the nostalgia of men's smoking rooms, oak-paneled walls, old books, high-backed leather armchairs, and worn ottomans. The wood carries with it the legacy of smoke, lingering over time.
