The fruit of a creative duo, 21 Conduit St gives lavender a unique luminosity. The accord was born from a formula by Oli Marlow, whose passion for this aromatic note dates back to childhood. He dreamed of giving it greater contrast, making it more multifaceted, enhancing its tart and fruity freshness and warming it with resinous notes.
“It’s a lavender that comes from the freshness of cold, crisp oranges, the boldness of cassis, and the bittersweet, comforting warmth of pine,” explains Marlow.
In Paris, his meeting with perfumer Marie Schnirer (Laboratoire Maelstrom) opened the doors to a new world of raw materials, in particular a quality of Javanese Vetiver that enriches the ensemble with a whirlwind of smoky and earthy notes.
“It’s like a very original hashish note,” observes Marie Schnirer.
“But,” she adds, “above all, the secret of 21 Conduit St is the richness of its double lavender: a highly aromatic essential oil and an absolute with notes of coumarone, a plant that has spent several days drying in the sun, which radiates through to the woody base of the perfume.”
It is also a lavender cloaked in the freshness of citrus fruits and the fruity notes of fir balsam, whose candied accents evoke a pleasantly soft amaretto accord, balanced by a mysterious, shadowy and woody facet.
